Pregnant? These blends may help stretch marks!

Posted by admin on March 28th, 2008

To prevent stretch marks or heal existing ones, blend 1 Tablespoon (15 ml) EACH of wheat germ, and rose hip seed oil in 5 tsp (25 ml) jojoba, grapeseed or sweet almond oil. Add no more than 10 drops in total of the following: (use singly or in combination) rose, neroil, frankincense, lavender. Use twice daily for light belly and breast massage. Use circular, clockwise motions on the belly. I also find coconut oil to be very beneficial for all types of skin issues.

Oils rich in Vit E are great (borage, wheat germ oil)

Here are some oils to avoid altogether during pregnancy:
basil, clove, cinnamon leaf, hyssop, juniper, marjotam, myrrh, spanish sage, thyme

best avoided during first 4 months:
fennel, rose, peppermint, rosemary, atlas cedarwood

Soothe those Cracked Toes and Feet!

Posted by admin on February 22nd, 2008

Want a really neat easy blend that you can slather on those cracked dry feet and toes? Then just make up a mix of shea butter and black walnut oil in about a 60% to 40% blend and slather on! Melt your shea butter and hold for 20 mins at about 180degrees -  no boiling! - and then mix with the BWO. Mix thoroughly and for an even better cream, whip it for 15 mins at a time, let rest, whip again until it peaks like whipped cream. This is a wonderful blend!

Soothing Shea Butter Cream Recipe

Posted by Pam on January 9th, 2008

This is a great recipe for making a nice shea butter facial/hand cream.

Ingredients:
1 oz beeswax
1 oz sweet almond oil (or oil of your choice)
0.75 oz shea butter
0.5 oz cocoa butter
add fragrance or EO  if wanted

Melt your beeswax in a double boiler (or pan on top of pan will work). Once the beeswax is melted, just add your cocoa butter, then shea butter and after that is almost melted, add your sweet almond oil (or use jojoba or olive or almond).  Once that is all melted, remove from heat, let cool a bit and then add your essential oil or fragrance oil.

Pour your mixture into a decorative jar or bottle and when cooled, it will make a nice semi-solid cream.

Shea butter is a wonderful anti-aging/anti-wrinkling agent and has some wonderful qualities!

Easy Beauty Cream - Avocado-Aloe-Shea

Posted by admin on November 19th, 2007

Awesome Beauty Cream recipe

So I had nothing better to do last night … even though I’m having 25 people over for THANKSGIVING!! so I decided to pull out some of my stash of exotic oils and decided to experiment. Boy am I glad I did!! What an awesome cream!

I took a glob of avocado oil, a glob of aloe butter and 3 globs of unrefined shea… warmed them up and simmered for about 10 mins, set it in the freezer for a few mins, whipped it up with my handy dandy stick blender and set it back in the freezer - did that a few more times till it started to whip up nicely - then added about 5 drops of tea tree oil to it…whipped that up then halved it and added black pepper oil to one half. I have the most AWESOME cream now!!! The one with black pepper oil is to massage into my joints, the other is for an all-over cream …. I’m not kidden..this stuff is awesome! Its not greasy (like the pure whipped shea) soaks into the skin within minutes and leaves the softest skin… like a baby’s butt! LOL … going to pass this one out to my sisters and mom at Thanksgiving!

Blessings!
